Moderate hero
A moderate hero is a person with centrist or moderate political views. Moderate heroes believe that taking centrist stances increases the general population's respect and opinion of their views. Considered by many to be an illness, moderate heroes tend to lack logical and coherent sets of opinions. Subjects suffering from moderate heroism often display an intense desire for attention, and will attempt to place themselves in a position where they may be the deciding vote. Moderate heroes are usually in denial concerning their illness, and often suffer from a superiority complex. The term was first coined by Boss Tweed.

There are several distinct sub-species of the moderate hero.

The Franzl
The Franzl will simultaneously have political views that may be considered solidly leftist and solidly rightist. The Franzl is proud of this seemingly diverse set of opinions, and will not hesitate to display them in a show of force.

Other than its namesake, prominent examples of the Franzl include AustralianSwingVoter and S019.

The Ben
The Ben will look at two sides of a debate, and attempt to place itself precisely in the middle. For example, if Side A wanted to spend X on a given bill, and Side B wanted to spend 0, the Ben would support spending 1/2X, even if spending 1/2X would make absolutely no sense and accomplish neither sides' goals. While many believe that compromise is a natural solution to resolve deadlock, the Ben may create deadlock for the sole purpose of making itself look moderate and reasonable.

Prominent examples of the Ben include Benconstine, Kingpoleon, and W.X. Transit.

The Alcon
The Alcon is known for its tendencies to take the position of the majority, and their well-documented behavior of following the political winds. For example, should public opinion polling show Candidate X leading in the polls, the Alcon will support Candidate X. But should Candidate Y overtake Candidate X in the polls, the Alcon will change their support to Candidate Y. The Alcon prides itself on this strategy, believing that they are actually carefully looking at the candidates and issues before coming to a logical conclusion. If confronted about its moderate heroism, the Alcon will unleash a wave of wordy and incoherent justifications to confuse its opponent into submission.

The Wulfric
Perhaps the most absurd subspecies of moderate hero, the Wulfric is a relative of the Alcon that has been known to nitpick the most arbitrary of criteria and use them to dictate which candidates they support and which ones are disqualified from support. The Wulfric has also been known to account any electoral defeat to the extremism of the respective electorate, and in the case of regional elections, will sometimes immediately choose to move out of the region in question. In recent times, the Wulfric has also been characterized by a tendency to join major ideological parties on a whim and pledge their loyalty to this party, changing their positions and voting patterns accordingly. The Wulfric also demonstrates similar with-the-wind tendencies to the Alcon, with the added caveat that they will not under any conditions preference one party's full slate.

That this mentions "Benconstine" shows how old this is.

Who wrote this spam?

That said may "moderate heroes" be fruitful and multiply before we all poison each other's water supply.
