The thing is these indictments IMO have an underlying political motivation. They're obviously meant to martyr Trump and hand him the GOP nomination because he'll be easy to beat in 2024.

It will backfire and the prosecutors know it. They are not doing this for that reason. Trump committed crimes and it doesn’t matter if he becomes a martyr or if there are other extreme political consequences.
