For people who aren’t as interested in identity politics or intersectionality, what sort of representation can they get from the Dems?

Yes.

Sanders is a "class reductionist," and he came close to winning the 2016 Primaries, and probably would've won the 2020 Primaries if Biden hadn't run (a plurality of Biden voters had Sanders as their second choice).

I would argue that (2020) Bernie focused much of his campaign on identity politics.
