If I had to guess at the moment they’d probably be the US, UK, Israel, Russia and Saudi Arabia. Accurate? I guess post-Covid China would be up there as well.

India and Pakistan too (even if this isn’t a common phenomenon outside India and Pakistan).

US/Israel for sure. Russia perhaps. China not so much.

I don't think that anyone hates Saudi Arabia. People may consider it culturally foreign, etc., but this is not the same thing.

I certainly do and I'm not alone. Hating a country with an extremely oppressive regime that tolerates funding of terrorism and spreads an extreme version of Islam all over the world is hardly a fringe position.

I don't think the US is anywhere close to the top here. And if so, it would be pretty disappointing.

I wouldn't call the US a hegemon but it isn't far off, and it's enjoyed that status for decades. This means it will loom larger in the average foreigner's mind than, say, North Korea.

For this reason alone, it has to be either #1 or very close to it. If Wales started a genocide tomorrow, most people would not be aware of it for long enough for it to change their perceptions of the country.

Has to be Russia currently surely?

Obviously the US as the biggest, most powerful nation in the world will always attract a lot of resentment

I suspect Russia isn't that high in the world at-large, but in the West, it certainly is up there.

Russia certainly doesn't look like it's first.
EDIT: Actually, scratch that. Hate is different from disapproval and the depth of the dislike for Russia is likely high enough now that it overtakes anti-Americanism outside the West.

The poll was about whether people wanted their governments to cut ties with or sanction Russia, not whether they liked it or not. I suspect most of the people who dislike the US, for instance, do not want economic sanctions placed on all goods or services coming from the US.

Interesting.
Thanks for the info.
I felt it was a bit weird how deep red (parts of) the Third World was...or how dark green India (the subcontinent) was.

Google lead me to several lists and they're all basically the same:
1.Russia
2.PRC
3.USA
4.Saudi Arabia
5.N.Korea
6.Pakistan
7.Israel
8.Iraq
0.Iran
10.Germany

What’s the logic behind hating Iraq?

What’s the logic behind hating Iraq?
1.dumb people confuse it with Iran?
2.Some surrounding countries have long standing beef with them and for good reason
3.a lot of ISIS are former Saddam pals

I mean, I think when people say they “hate a country”, they mean they hate the government/politics of the country, not the country itself. The government/politics of Iraq has absolutely no resemblance to the government and politics pre-2003, so I don’t know why anyone who hate them based on anything to do with Saddam.

k

like I said, it's a list I found at different places.  Also, Iraq still sucks.  Maybe not as bad as it sucked 25 years ago (and it did suck, Saddam was a bad dude.  I think a lot of us forget that fact when he pat each other on the back saying "we'd have been against the Iraq War but we were in kindergarten at the time".), but it's still an authoritarian sh**t hole.

Certainly less out of place than Germany.  Who would you put in their place?  Mozambique?  The bad Congo?  Burma?  Belarus?

Surely - not. In the West - yes, but worldwide (given that "the West" is about 1/7 or 1/6 of world population) - much more people hates US then Russia. And US role as a "West (with claims to "world") leader" only increases this number..

Yeah any answer other than the US is obviously wrong.

My guess for the second most hated is probably Pakistan.

It seems to me - genuinely - that a lot more people dislike the US when it has GOP presidents.

I don't think the UK is amongst the most hated countries on earth and Israel is not really hated much outside of the Muslim world. However, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Iran, China, possibly the United States, North Korea would probably be on the list though.

The US is so hated everyone wants to move here lol.

But no, there is some truth to that in that the populations of large countries has been brainwashed to hate us. We could well be both the most loved and most hated country on Earth.

Not everyone. Among countries i lived or visited personally US is surely below Canada and Switzerland, and roughly on par (for me) with Germany, England or Slovenia. Among other - would greatly prefer almost any Scandinavian country...))))
