Reduce Deficit spending: This is to vague of a question and relates to your other questions so I’ll answer the others.

Raising Ages for Social Security/Medicare : As of now no , I would rather raise the social security payroll tax cap and means test benefits . If that’s not enough then I’d support raising the age

Reducing Military Spending(I will break this up) : I think we should audit the pentagon to see how exactly we are spending each dollar as that will tell us what we can easily cut and what we can’t .

Foreign Aid : Depends on what as I support our current aid to Ukraine but I opposed our aid to the Syrian Rebels as Assad was the lesser evil there . I also think we should pressure every NATO nation to spend 2% on defense . So again depends on the individual subject

Increasing individual/Corporate  tax rates : No but I would support getting rid of the carried interest loophole

Eliminating subsidies: Depends on what , as I support the CHIPs act . I would though put strict terms and conditions on any subsidy

I support all of those except raising individual income tax rates, Id be open to making capital gains considered ordinary income though.

The only individuals whose taxes should be raised are those making several million dollars a year or more, at least 5-10 million. I also support increased corporate taxes and reduce military spending, along with some reduction in foreign aid not including Ukraine

I'm for reducing the deficit. As for the other, I would say "it depends", and not a rigid Yes/No answer.

Other than taxes do you agree with my answers on here . I think it’s something conservatives and liberals could generally agree with

Actually yes, other than taxes, I could agree with most of that. As for military spending, it depends as well. For long I though the US and NATO countries should cut defense spending for deficit reduction and social programs, but the war in Ukraine and China's increasing hostility makes a strong defense of NATO vitally important.

Austerity is bad
Bloated military budgets are bad
Deficit spending is (usually but not always) bad
Low taxes on the rich are really bad
Low taxes on corporations are really bad
Cutting entitlements is really bad (raising retirement age is bad too)
Weakening the social safety net is really really bad

Cutting deficit spending is dumb

Military spending is necessary, if anything it should be increased we got a lot of sh**t to fix in the military.

Raise taxes on the rich

Abolish the corporate tax

Raise the retirement age (Canada has some good ideas to cut down on social spending)

Do you also support a European-style welfare state?

If so, lolololololololol.

Taxing the ultra-wealthy alone wouldn't even come close to generating the revenue needed to fund a generous welfare state. There's a reason why taxes on the wealthy are only slightly higher in Europe than they are in America, while taxes on the poor and middle-class are substantially higher in the former than the latter (especially with 10%+ VAT taxes).

Incredible that this place still has enough brainworms to offer majority support only to the two absolute dumbest policies here. We have a dire scenario with both Russia and China brewing, and our allies are still not doing their part. It's contingent on the USA to save the world again, and a majority of the people here seem ok with just letting what should be pariah states become murderous imperial superpowers.

The only acceptable item on this list is to raise individual income taxes. The first choice only makes sense when compared to COVID-era spending. Otherwise, cut from what?

'Reducing military spending and/or foreign aid' is a weird thing to include together since most people who favor one probably don't favor the other (I'm sure there are those people, but I think they're a minority) in any case I voted in favor of corporate and personal tax increases, cutting the military budget and was hesitant on 'subsidies' since that's also a huge simplification and I wasn't sure which industry we were talking about really.

I mean capital gains rates are lower for very specific and productive reasons…

Why? The best countries to live on Earth (Switzerland, Norway, etc.) all have lower corporate tax rates than the United States.

Why do you believe that this is a causal relationship?

I would be OK with eliminating max contributions by payroll tax. The SS age should be 70 but the Medicare age should be reduced to a point where the population that has to compete for insurance is much healthier.

Reducing deficit spending.

People seem to forget that paying interest on the national debt is one of the foremost ways the United States government helps rich people -- from all around the world -- get richer.
