They were both king shot bids although McCain did make and effort to campaign in Pennsylvania while Obama basically didn’t campaign much in Georgia(for good reasons). Most political pundits thought that McCain may have a slight chance to pick up PA if everything goes right for him while Georgia was seen as safe republican even though the results were closer than Pennsylvania’s
