I think you can make the argument he has continued the good work of Trump in erasing the 1980-2014 consensus.

I would argue the neoliberal consensus began in 1978 when President Carter deregulated the airline industry.

When would you say it ended? Obviously there are still vestiges but we seem to be in the post-neoliberal era.

Trump governed like a neoliberal Republican despite his rhetoric, so it certainly lasted past 2014.  Perhaps the tariffs placed on China signal the beginning of the end of that era.

I feel like we saw a shift toward industrial policy and mercantilism under Trump and Biden.

No, just blocked it from getting worse. That's the Democratic way.

America has always been great. Trump tried to trash it but Biden has brought dignity and respect back since the Obamas were in the WH.

Don't let the media get to you. America does some wrong things but looking at our country overall, I think we're looking good. The eyes of the world are always watching us.

Well, it's certainly less fascist than it would be under Trump.

the idea of things being great "again" only appeals to pussies who think things were ever "good"

everything has always been terrible and always will be, thats just the way life is ever since the first organisms came to life way back when
