For the first time ever, more Democrats sympathize with Palestinians than Israelis. Also, Millennials side with Palestine narrowly.

I'd be more inclined to distinguish between the Israeli people and the current government. Latter is utter trash.

From my observations Israel's new evil government has caused a noticeable drop in support among diaspora Jews too.

Netanyahu had to work really hard to push the boat out and the trend seems likely to hold for the forseeable future, but I'm skeptical of claims that there is no longer a bipartisan consensus on support for Israel. As with Ukraine (but even more so), legislators are likely to ignore shifts in the grassroots and the grassroots will begrudge them this as long as FoPo issues are of low electoral salience.

There is really nobody more responsible for this than Netanyahu. He chose to take partisan sides in US domestic politics, and this is the inevitable result.

I mean this was probably inevitable honestly. Israel has been falling out of favor in alot nations in the West lately. The current government and the situation with the settlements is slowly making Israel look like an opressor to many around the world. One of the weird things to me is Netanyahu trying to court support among right wing parties in the West. He certainly capatilizing on the view of Israel being a beacon of White Western civilization in a historically signficant region that has long been dominated by Islam and Middle Eastern culture.

Endless unjustified military occupation tends to do that, yeah.

Yeah, I sympathize more with Israel over the entire history of the conflict, but I do think that Israel’s recent actions should be condemned as unacceptable, even by its allies.

The deliberate result of a decade-long project begun by Barack Obama months after he took office.

London 2014-2019 shows how bad this can get, and how essential it is to not give an inch. Pro-Israel forces are going to need to get comfortable with taking the offense.

Most Jewish Americans do not prioritize Israel over America, unlike Evangelical Christians.

You think OBAMA is the reason for this and that the Israeli government bears no responsibility for how people increasingly view the occupation?

LOL. You are even more ridiculous than I thought. This is the result of an unjustified occupation that has been going on since before my mother was in elementary school. A lot of people on the left in America have been *extraordinarily* patient with successive Israeli governments that have shown little to no interest in treating the Palestinians as people deserving of basic human rights. How many more decades are we supposed to wait while Israel transforms the West Bank into a bantustan before we're allowed to conclude that they aren't going to change their ways without outside pressure?

It's about time.

The apartheid being perpetuated by the Israeli government (not "the jews", before some idiot twists my words) is disgusting and heartbreaking.

It's not impossible that Israel's support base will drift from the West to the Third World over time, especially if evangelical movements are very successful in the latter.
The Third World leaned quite pro-Palestine in the 1980s. Even Brazil's military government probably leaned that direction.

Even India which historically was pro Palestine has definitely gotten closer with Israel in the Modi era

Most of the Third World (and Eastern Europe) recognizes Palestine while Western Europe doesn't. But the sentiments of the population are different, i think even in the 2000s the Pew poll showed most non-Muslim parts of the third world sympathized with Israel more than most of Europe did.

It’s their own d*** fault for repeatedly electing a racist, fascistic aspiring dictator.  The Palestinian leadership is also evil, but at this point neither side is even remotely sympathetic.
