In other news, a pair of British and German Eurofighters based out of Estonia have intercepted a stray Russian refuelling plane.

This sort of thing happens quite often and I don't think it would be news if not for the drone. The intimidation attempts are regular, but there's also the trips to and from Kaliningrad which occasionally are mistaken for something else. That seems to be what happened here.

Austin has spoken with his Russian counterpart, for the first time in months. The Biden Administration seems to handle this incident extremely well.

I treated the fuel dumping claims with some skepticism, but they seem legitimate now.

Perhaps this collision was for the best, if it discourages future risky manouevres of a similar nature. Fuel dumping becoming a regular aspect of aerial intimidation would make it even pettier than it usually is.
