1. North and South Dakota merge
2. North and South Carolina merge
3. West Virginia and Virginia merge
4. D.C. Is granted statehood
5. A new state, “Carribbea”, is created, with Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands merging together and forming it
6. A new state, “Pacifica” is created, with Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, and American Samoa merging together to form it

*The new states being created is only done with the consent of the merging territories

I am okay with all but DC statehood. I do not support statehood for a city. DC should just be a part of Maryland for representation purposes.

I'd also support merging
Idaho, WY and Mt into one state
Kansas, Nebraska and Missouri into one state
Ark and Ok into another.

Overall yes, though the Virginia's and Carolina's are different. Is there really any sentiment to merge the Carolina's? I've heard of the Virginia's and Dakota's reasoning before, but the Carolina's had always been separate intentionally and just share a name while bordering each other, and they're not mostly-empty states like some of the interior western and plains states.

So the current Senate balance goes from 51D-49R, to 56D-44R.

McConnell said RS are opposed to Any statehood so this proposal doesn't even matter, unless D's get a Filibuster proof Trifecta

Let's merge...
New England + NY into a state
The west coast + HI into a state
Chicago can be its own state
And the native counties of AZ and NM can be its own native state

"Are you a Democrat or a Republican?"

Also, Pacifica would only have 47% of the population of Wyoming or 0.7% of the population of CA.

DC should not be a state, full stop. DC residents should simply be exempted from federal taxation to close the taxation without representation problem.

The territories are colonial possessions and should not be part of the US. Puerto Rico should be given a constitutional trigger to become independent because of its size.

This would be insanely beneficial for Democrats, so yes. I support this.

This. Though I admit taking his position makes me guilty of partisan hackery.

LoL we have to win MO, MT, OH, AZ and as wave insurance FL, TX and WV first

RS used SCOTUS to create a Perm Gerrymandering if the H in 2010s that benefits them but they didn't win 230 seats like they were supposed to RS did the same thing

No. Why are so many people voting yes?

"Pacifica" alone would be ridiculous:

*Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands and American Samoa are too sparsely populated & geographically spread out to become states (and especially one unified state).

*American Samoans (for the most part) prefer the status quo and don't want statehood.

This is because becoming a state would disrupt the culture of American Samoa. There are laws in American Samoa, mainly about who can buy land based on heritage, which would be deemed unconstitutional if they were to become a state. It's also the reason why American Samoans are U.S. nationals and NOT U.S. citizens (they can get citizenship if they live in the mainland U.S.).

How funny, I also believe Washington shouldn’t have representation!

Maryland doesn’t want DC though, nor does Virginia.

I'd do away with state government entirely tbh, but on those territories specifically, annexation or independence. I would support the latter, but their call. Way past time to get that sorted out. And on the flag, we ought to switch to the Betsy Ross and call it a day. Fifty stars in a small canton is a bit much.

Any place that has delegates to the United States House of Representatives should be granted full voting representation in both houses of Congress and electoral votes. If statehood isn't going to be granted then full representation should be.

Merging DC into West Virginia would create an almost perfect swing state.

Why are we worried about statehood and we don't have the Filibuster proof Trifecta yet we need to earn the Secular Trifecta, McConnell said RS will Filibuster any D's attempt to pass DC Statehood no matter what proposal it is
