Most women don't even know they're pregnant until 5 weeks in. A 6 week ban, for all practical purposes, is ALMOST a total ban on abortion.

However, I would think those greatly concerned about this would proactively seek out medical tests that could identify a pregnancy as close to day 1 as possible?

If they have the time and money to do so, sure. Not everybody has that luxury.

This is a good law, if it helps encourage rape victims to make reports to police.

No it won't. If anything, it will make them LESS likely to report it to the police

How does that even work, in your mind?  LOL

Per the reporting, currently only 14% of rape victims seeking abortions hadn't reported their crimes to the police.

Also, could the journalist not find any better "expert source" than an out-of-state professor at the nation's #236-ranked criminal justice program?  LOL

Show proof of rape? That is absolutely reprehensible to demand such a thing. Not all rapes are going to be reported to police because if the rapist is someone the victim feels they wouldn't be believed over (like a pillar of a community) then they aren't going to report it.

I'm constantly being told by conservatives that Florida is a "free state."

LMAO. Free for who?

At least for a minor, doesn't a healthcare worker have to report it if they have been told or suspect a rape?
