Population: 15,835,000
Ethnic Groups: Predominantly European. Scottish, Ulster ancestry dominates. Alongside Dutch (from 18th centrury settlement) and Norwegian, from early 20th century invitation.
Overview: Nominally Socialist in it's constitution; has regular 'mostly free' elections.
Most of the population is located on the northern west coast. Discovered by the Dutch it became a British colony until independence in 1921 after Syndicalist riots. Part of the 'non aligned' movement after WW2, in recent years the country has liberalised (think if the GDR had survived by shifting to leftist green Eurocommunism). The People's Chamber is a loose association of party groups and interest groups with power devolved to regions. Similar economy/climate etc to Finland, with logging and mining heavy formally heavy in the south, now superseded by hydroelectric and wind power, plus tundra extraction exportable to other southern countries near 'the Bay.'
