Beshear has to name a Republican to his seat, he can't pick someone from the same party.

Probably Andy Barr or Daniel Cameron, McConnell's protege.

McConnell isn't going anywhere unless he dies, so there will be no vacancy at the moment.

He should retire. Should have lost in 2008 or 2014.

Looks like he has a concussion. Will be in the hospital a few days.

If I say what I think, I will get banned.

I said what I thought and it apparently was removed even though I didn't think I broke any rules. I didn't actively wish for his death and certainly called for no violence. Basically just said I don't care much if he lives or dies. Are we not even allowed to be callous and indifferent anymore? We have to feign sympathy for one of the most evil and destructive forces in American politics in decades if not centuries? He's right up there with Newt Gingrich as far as I'm concerned. I won't be crying crocodile tears for him either.

And the Kissinger thread should be coming soon enough. Can't imagine how many will have to be removed/banned then if the mods are really gonna be this ridiculous about stuff like this.

Anyway, I even implied that the best world would be one in which Mitch -- who obviously is highly intelligent and capable -- was still around and did the right thing, unlikely as that is to ever happen at this point. Apparently I'm not allowed to just vent my frustrations and mixed emotions about the man who has been a dominant and largely detrimental force in my state and nation for decades. What the hell is even the point of a discussion forum if you can't honestly discuss anything, if everything has to be like this?

As for the question of a Republican to replace him, Beshear should name me to take his seat! I'll switch to a blue avatar today if that's what it takes!
