50 YEAR-OLD SAGGY GRIFF FOR LINCOLN GOV
Ohai! It's your favorite four-term President to hate, crawling out of the bogs and making a speech from beautiful Aberdeen, Scotland (
still part of Lincoln!).
Since we're having about 1000 special elections in Lincoln over the next month - and since I hate to see uncontested races in what has been for years the most competitive region of the game - I've decided to throw my decrepit hat into the ring for the duration of this term!
As someone who has at some point held virtually every regional and federal position that has existed since the dawn of time, I understand the importance of stability during otherwise unstable times. This is yet another reason why I'm willing to lend my expertise to our beloved region for the duration of this term.
Why am I running, what does all of this mean, and what can you expect from me? Let me lay out the terms unequivocally:1)
This is an uphill battle for Governor, to be sure. Despite the chorus of people who will celebrate me losing, I'm no virgin (despite
some people) to losing elections. I've lost many during my more supple years, but have won even more. It's just a fact of life that "you win some, you lose some".
2)
Uncontested elections are boring. What's the point of an elections simulator if nobody runs? I rest my case.
3)
I will only serve the remainder of the unexpired term for Lincoln Governor. Truth be told, I am not some addled maniac seeking glory in a fantasy game (been there, done that!) and while some may point to my one-term pledge as President from years past being broken, I think it is safe to say that providing a transitionary form of stability for a regional government in constant chaos is far less glamorous, alluring and therefore far easier to which to adhere.
4)
I will actually serve left-of-center causes in Lincoln as Governor. Regardless of what my most voracious and obese opponents might say about me, even they would never dare accuse me of kowtowing to conservative causes. The majority of voters in Lincoln support the same broader policies as I do. While being a "Christian Man" might be the easier path in society, it has never been mine: I will always stand up for all who genuinely struggle and need a leg-up in the world, and I will
never apologize to those who stand in the way of such.
So that's it! With just under 2 days until the booth opens, I'm throwing my withered hat in the race to offer a choice. Nothing more & nothing less - but rest assured, choosing me for this partial term will deliver the reliability so many in this region need during such stressful times.
