Quote
Community Liberty Act

1. This bill will be known as the Community Liberty Act

2. This bill will implement people’s assembly’s at the local level similar to the New England town hall structure in which will help citizens who are eligible to vote to become more civically engaged and vote on local issues.

3. States and communities  will be allowed to set a minimum voting age that is lower than Lincoln’s current ones with a majority vote. Guest and illegal immigrants would also be given the opportunity to vote in state and/or local elections as long as a majority of voters approve.

4. Implementation: This bill will take place effective immediately

Thank you Speaker Dwarven,

This bill will advance the rights for communal liberty and grassroots democracy at the local level. It will also give people freedom to decide on the issues that impact them at the local level and that the communities have the right to choose who can vote in local elections, a type of local sovereignty that I believe the people have a right to. While I don’t think this should expand to the regional level, I feel as if those who live in and pay taxes have the right to be heard in their communities.

Passed 2-0-1.

Somewhat concerned about allowing illegals to vote, but given the limited scope and the strong support I will not object.
