Senator SunriseAroundTheWorld, R-Central Antarctican Oblast, has announced that he is resigning from the Senate to run for the Presidency of Antarctica.


The following statement was released by Rogu Fishbread, the Senator's Chief of Staff and Press Secretary:

"Senator Sunrise has decided to resign from the Antarctican Senate to mount a Presidential campaign.

He is proud of his 15 years in the senate - where he fought for Polar Bear Habitat sustainability, Snowman's Syndrome Awareness and for the Penguin Peoplehood's right to self-governance within the Antarctican Republic system.

He believes his experience in the Senate, his previous experience in the House, uniquely qualifies him to serve as President of Antarctica. He plans on running a centrist campaign that is based on unity, equality, friendship and prudency. "

Antarctica cannot have a President. Antarctica is legitimately Crown land. The head of state of Antarctica is King Charles III.
