VP: You can win with any of the four easily. Bricker has the highest electoral upshot but hurts you in the PV (which is an achievement in NCT) because of his downside in NY/CA. The questions vary a bit for each VP but I'll keep it simple and stick with Earl Warren. Visits: CO, WY, maybe WI/IA if you're feeling sheepish about them
Answers: The general theme is running as a domestic moderate, an internationalist, and most importantly picking the answers that take the attack to Truman as opposed to the vague, feel-good ones (which was how Dewey ran and lost in 1948). For the Warren question slate: 1. [Only one answer] 2. Absolutely not. 3. I've supported the Israeli state from the beginning. 4. Not only will I speak about this issue, but I will use it to attack Truman. 5. Not only is this a serious issue, but Harry Truman is complicit in it. 6. I support our current airlift... 7. Harry Truman is an ineffectual, vacillating, highly unpopular President. 8. Plains and Mountain states 9. I think there are definitely programs that the federal government can get involved in... 10. I absolutely believe that the federal government should be providing funds... 11. We are the only thing standing between the world and global domination by the Soviets. 12. What Truman really means when he calls this the "Do-Nothing" Congress... 13. I support the expansion of benefits... 14. This is something that we badly need right now. 15. Plains and Mountain states 16. I support the Marshall Plan... 17. We have already passed the Taft-Hartley Act... 18. I support the HUAC... 19. I support this Amendment as a necessary step... 20. We are clearly overcrowding our urban areas at the moment. 21. Plains and Mountain states 22. Only if we had clear assurances that other nations would not develop a nuclear bomb... 23. Anyone can see that I've supported road development throughout my career... 24. Plains and Mountain states 25. We'll barnstorm as much of the Midwest as we can...
Ran this just now and won with 293 electoral votes (Based Santa's map plus Colorado and Wyoming; I lost Wisconsin which usually is better for Dewey than those two states), while losing the popular vote by 0.3%.
