Does anyone here (especially among the GA posters) know why Brian Kemp supported automatic voter registration in the state? I know that he isnít as conservative as he pretends to be and Iím not saying that it wasnít the right thing to do, but that was a career-ending move if I ever saw one.

Obviously not from Georgia, but IIRC, he didnít, the AVR wasnít passed by the state legislature, instead the Department of Driver Services, the Secretary of Stateís Office and the Attorney Generalís Office implemented automatic voter registration on their own through the driverís license application form.
