Doctors in this nyt article claim transgender teens are more likely to have these tics but are afraid of doing research because it can cause trans genocide.

Clearly no bias in this scientific field.

Quote
At a conference on tic disorders last summer in Lausanne, Switzerland, doctors from several countries shared another observation: A surprising percentage of their patients with the TikTok tics identified as transgender or nonbinary. But without hard data in hand, multiple attendees said, the doctors worried about publicly linking transgender identity and mental illness.

“These kids have a tough enough life already, and we don’t want to inadvertently somehow make things even worse for them,” said Dr. Donald Gilbert, a neurologist at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, whose adult daughter is transgender.

This along with the story that scientists didn’t want to really say that it was possible that COVID was made in a lab due to not wanting to join in on “racism” shows that the field has been throughly politicized and why they have lost trust .

It’s why republican governors  need to put more conditions when it comes to research grants for projects cause their has to be done pushback

Don't forget the Federal Reserve funding an economic study on a completely garbage basis that even I could debunk(with mvds help)

But muh “trust the experts”

What study is this? Legitimate question, I'm not aware of it.

Also it seems like an easy out to blame the disorders on social media usage which, I mean, is what I assume we're all thinking anyway. But I might be mixing correlation and causation, perhaps social media addiction draws shut-ins who are ostracised for other reasons.

Its a study that claims racial or gender disparities cost America trillions . Its effectively like claiming we could double America's economy if we removed the disparity between Nigerian/Jewish/Indian Americans  and the rest of America .

The article you sent though doesn’t say they’re afraid to research it but don’t want to state there is a link without research backing it up
