Republicans that disliked Trump but saw him as a lesser evil and wanted a check on him in the senate.

There was a good bit of that in 2017 and to a lesser extent 2020, especially in the suburbs like Shelby county.

Basically someone who saw the national Dems as too far left, but liked Doug Jones personally.

Someone who wants less polarization in the country and more centrist politicians, and who therefore felt like Jones needed to stay, but who also did not see Trump as too polarizing or radical and may have been mindful of Trump's more "liberal" views and of Trump's history of being a centrist Democrat and Independent at different points in his life.
