What's Carney going to do? He's term limited as Governor and that open Senate seat has got to be tempting.

No Republicans pls.

You can't just call everyone who is not a communist a Republican, just I can't call everyone who is not a fascist a Democrat.

This is tantamount to saying we all need to arbitrarily label politicians according to your centrist worldview, which is hilarious and exactly the issue with centrism.

If McBride runs for house would she clear the field?

Doubtful, It's a safe D seat and the clear stepping off point for higher office down the road. I would expect a pretty crowded primary in a state full of ambitious Dems, but the open governor race might dilute it a bit.

Maybe we can't call everyone who is not a communist a Republican, but we should call everyone who is against legal marijuana Republicans.

Or people against a living wage for tipped workers, for matter of fact.

LBR is a lot older than I suspected, age 61.  Chris Coons is younger and will have 10+ years of seniority on her.

Yeah she's older than Carper was when he entered the Senate.

So we’re almost for sure getting two black women senators, doubling the amount we’ve had so far in American history

I’m gonna go ahead and give a double endorsement, her for Senate, and Sarah McBride for House

Sarah McBride is interesting in that she's very close to the Bidens, including working on Beau Biden's AG campaign in 2010. Joe Biden himself has credited her with helping him learn about trans rights issues, and as far back as 2012, Biden talked about how transgender rights would be the next civil rights issue of our time.

It's not impossible that he could endorse her based on that extremely close friendship between McBride and the Biden family. And if Joe does, that's probably it, McBride wins. If there's no endorsement, she still probably has a ton of connections that could help her win. She's not a fringe candidate.

McBride spoke at the DNC so yea she’s far from a fringe candidate
