2016 who is it you want to win this primary? You seem to viscerally hate Trump, but you've been trying your best to torpedo the chances of the woman with the best chance of upsetting him.

I am personally done with the 2024 Presidential Election. I want a Conservative to win and neither Trump, Haley or Biden qualify for that. I want to destroy that woman politically so she can't run in 2028.

This sort of misogynistic incel talking point should not be tolerated on this forum.
Trump and Haley are destroying DeSantis non-stop politically. What's wrong doing that with her? When comes around goes around?

May I remind you of this:
https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2024-election/trump-desantis-rivalry-beyond-2024-2028-rcna128820

Looks like it's very personal between Trump and DeSantis. Trump wants to destroy the entire DeSantis Family.

Trump turns ire on Haley as she builds momentum

Quote
With just days until the Iowa caucuses, former President Donald Trump and his team have shifted to targeting GOP presidential rival Nikki Haley as they seek to slow her recent momentum before the first votes are cast this primary season.

The turn to Trump’s one-time ambassador to the United Nations marks a significant change in strategy for the former president and his campaign. The front-runner had spent the better part of the last year solely attacking Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who had long been considered his top GOP challenger. However, recent polls have shown an unmistakable surge for the former South Carolina governor, particularly in New Hampshire, where a new CNN survey showed Trump’s lead shrinking to single digits.

...

During a series of campaign events in Iowa last weekend, Trump leveled his sharpest attacks on Haley yet. And after stopping all ad buys attacking DeSantis, Trump’s campaign launched its first television ad directly taking on Haley on immigration in the Granite State last week. The leading super PAC supporting Trump released its version on the same topic on Monday.

Trump promotes 'totally baseless' birther conspiracy theory against Nikki Haley
The former U.N. ambassador was born in South Carolina and is a U.S. citizen.

Quote
Donald Trump, the chief propagator of false “birther” claims first against then-President Barack Obama and later against Sen. Ted Cruz, has a new target: Nikki Haley.

As Haley surges in New Hampshire polling, Trump posted an article on his Truth Social account from a right-wing outlet that claimed Haley, his GOP rival, is ineligible to be president because her parents were not U.S. citizens when she was born.

Haley was born in South Carolina and has lived in the U.S. her entire life. Her parents were immigrants, who became citizens after her birth in 1972.

“The birther claims against Nikki Haley are totally baseless as a legal and constitutional matter,” Harvard Law School professor emeritus Laurence Tribe wrote in an email. “I can’t imagine what Trump hopes to gain by those claims unless it’s to play the race card against the former governor and UN ambassador as a woman of color — and to draw on the wellsprings of anti-immigrant prejudice by reminding everyone that Haley’s parents weren’t citizens when she was born in the USA.”

And this is why Haley will never put a foot in that White House. Look at her face, LOL.

Haley is a Turncoat & Democrat: Accept that Republicans.
I don't think she's a democrat. She is just fake, will say whatever and do whatever that benefits her. She is worse than a democrat.

The user you guys were replying to is someone who considers anyone even slightly to the left of his preferred candidate (DeSantis) to be liberal Democrats.

One point here, I don't know if it's been made or not:

Even if Nikki Haley does win New Hampshire and then surges to win in her home state of South Carolina, it's still very unlikely that she'd beat Trump for the nomination.

There are three reasons why insurgent campaigns never win and the frontrunner always does even when the insurgent wins early on (One might argue that John Kerry defeating Howard Dean was an example of the frontrunner losing, but John Kerry was really the frontrunner all along. He had a health problem - I believe a bad back - the prevented him from campaigning for several months which allowed Dean to surge in that time, but Kerry was always the choice of the establishment Democrats and the frontrunner.)

In 2008, I'd argue that Hilary Clinton and Barack Obama were co-frontrunners.

1.Lack of money. Gary Hart who surged in 1984 after an upset win over Walter Mondale and John McCain in 2000 basically ran out of money. Hart was able to go all the way to the convention, but he had run out of steam.

It is likely that if Nikki Haley wins these two states that she'll have no trouble getting financing from the 'never Trumpers.'

2.Lack of experience and exhaustion: Many insurgent candidates have been tripped up by stupid comments or tactics often caused by exhaustion. Again, Gary Hart in 1984, Bob Dole in 1988, Steve Forbes I suppose in 1996...

Nikki Haley has already made stupid comments and they don't seem to have hurt her, if anything, most if not all of her stupid comments were intentional, I don't think this will be a factor.

3.Lack of organization post the early states. When the first two things aren't a problem, this always kills an insurgent campaign for the Presidential primary. I think there is a pretty much non zero chance this won't derail Nikki Haley if she wins New Hampshire and South Carolina.

It just goes to show that the GOP primary voter is superficial above all else, and Trump pushes those buttons for them. That's all there is to his appeal.

One of Haley's stump lines is that "the United States needs Israel more than Israel needs the United States." What does this mean?

It means that she is pandering, because she is smart enough to know that it certainly isn't true. However, the stakes are high enough that I think you have to give her a pass on this sort of thing. She has to do what she has to do to have any small remaining chance of beating Trump.

Nikki Haley indicates that she will skip the ABC NEWS/WMUR9 New Hampshire Debate sponsored by the New Hampshire Republican Debate & the CNN NH Debate.

She made those comments on a NH Radio Show this Morning.

DeSantis will have dropped out after Iowa, so makes sense on Haley's part.

I don't know why she would announce this though which is kind of a bad look. If it's just going to be her and Trump that qualify from the remaining candidates then it would be cancelled anyway and she could use it as a talking point against Trump.

I assume she will skip if / because Trump won't be there. Christie is gone. DeSantis will be gone after Monday. Vivek and Asa won't qualify

Even if DeSantis is still there, is it really necessary for her to debate him in NH?
I think DeSantis will waaay outperforming expectations in Iowa. Everyone basically saying his Campaign is DEAD, etc.

I think he will beat Haley by 10+ Points in Iowa.

Here is my Prediction:
Trump 47
DeSantis 27
Haley 15
Vivek 8
Christie 2

Santorum was at 15 % in the Final IA Poll in 2012, and got 24 %.

DeSantis Ground Game is better compared to Haleys.

I think everyone will be surprised by DeSantis on Monday especially the Gap between DeSantis and Haley. It's that Ground Game that will make up a lot of Points.

Larry Hogan:

Haley is gonna be a good proxy for what the actual size of the anti-trump block is, within the GOP. She's gonna win 90%+ of them.

One of Haley's stump lines is that "the United States needs Israel more than Israel needs the United States." What does this mean?

Coming from Haley, I’m guessing it’s reflective of the understanding common in American foreign policy circles that Israel is essential to America’s security/interests vis a vis the Middle East, while simultaneously emphasizing that Israel is a sovereign country and not a client state for American neo-imperialism (since the US is well-known for respecting the sovereignty of countries, especially in the Middle East  Glasses ).

(EDIT: paging Crumpets and Cathcon since they both know more about the foreign policy Blob and related matters than myself.)

It sounds more sophisticated and respectable than saying that Israel is on the front lines of Radical Islamic Terrorism, let alone any sort of explicitly Christian Zionist justification for US support. Haley has obviously been trying to carve out the “serious foreign policy” lane in the primaries as opposed to Trump, Ramaswamy, and to a lesser extent DeSantis. Whether there’s much appetite for that among Republican voters in the ongoing Trump era seems doubtful, but I’m not a Republican so maybe I’m wrong.

So, Nikki Haley and her crap SuperPac "Stand for America" + her liberal Donors spent over 20M $ in IA alone to beat DeSantis and she only comes in 3rd.

That effectively means the end of presidential debates for the 2024 primary season.

Daily Mail: Haley cheated on her husband with two men in 2010, according to affidavits

This is a tabloid website of course and I doubt it will have an impact since most Republicans made up their minds on Trump a long time ago, but if more credible sources report on it then Haley could easily underperform in New Hampshire.

They won't care if it's Trump, but if it's one of his rivals, like Haley is, it'll be the end of the world for her.
