What happens if a foreign born cabinet member is supposed to be the President?  As in - everyone in line before him died.

That person is automatically ineligible, so it skips to the next person in line.

That's what I thought - I just didn't know why that'd happen w/ VPs too - I mean, a candidat could want a foreign born just so he'd have power in the senate.

The requirements for VP are the same as for the Presidency.

Tits make a lot of sense, actually.  Well, not as much on males, but they work well on females.

There have been numerous cases where cabinet members (and one Speaker, who was lower down the line at that point) were foreign born and ineligible.  Basically, the idea is that these people have other functions and succession is incidental.

But VPs have other functions too.  and succession doesn't happen that often.

It's really simple. Check the original constitution before the XII (I think it's the XIIth... you know, the one that changed the rules on how the President is elected) amendment and it's immediately apparent.

Very, very few other real duties.  He can be a councillor, as it were, but he only presides over the Senate and that duty can be delegated.

Thanks. Smiley

I've been a bit busy.  In the last three weeks, I've drafted a memo, an opinion, helped run a special meeting, reviewed a law suit filing, redrafted an article, and been interviewed by the Press, twice.
