I think these people may have watched "Handmaid's Tale" one time too many.

Another day, another sh!thole state tries to outdo the other sh!thole states with draconian restrictions on literally everything except guns.

Why do these clowns think they're entitled to libertarian voters again? Make Howard Stern king for just one day and set everything straight.

"Cover their arms"? How is this not The Onion?

They're all beta cucks who've never seen a dumbbell before and envy Michelle Obama's right to bare arms (yes I'm using this language ironically). It's all a masculinity crisis.

So Missouri Republicans want to eliminate the right to bare arms.

Dress codes are bad. Let everyone wear what they want.

A legislative body should get to enforce its own rules relating to the conduct of members.

They should not tell women how to dress as long as they are sufficiently covered.

While I for sure believe lawmakers should be dressed properly, if you do it via code, then include men, too.

Y'all Qaeda in action.

The name is a joke, but these fake-Christan fascists  who have spread across our country are no joking matter. They're a grave threat that we've made excuses for and tolerated in civil society for far too long. America is going to end up in a civil war with jackwagons like this, because the rest of us aren't willing to stand up and reject them.

Dress codes should be less strictly enforced in Congress. No shorts, t shirts or flip flops? Fine. But everything else should be allowed.

He wore more formal clothes in the chamber and while being sworn in. I don't mean outside or on the campaign trail.

If that passes, very clear to me that they should all refuse to comply and wear dresses that bare their arms. The Democratic men can help by shielding them from security. It would be an easy political win and a just point against patriarchal oppression.

There should be a dress code that applies to men too . Basically require any legislator to wear Business Formal when they are working inside the floor of the legislature.

Though this 100% should not pass since it doesnt apply to men

That reminds me. Last summer, a photo of Richard Burr wearing shorts and flip flops in the capitol surfaced on the internet.

Covering your arms is the minimum standard for business attire.  Men are likewise required to wear suit jackets and ties while on the House floor, so there is nothing onerous about asking women to dress equivalently.

The introduction of women into the workforce has seen the acceptance of more casual standards of workplace dress, but that devolution has so far been unequal for men and women.  Men are still expected in the most professional settings to wear a full suit, while women often get away with much less.  This amendment to the House rules was introduced by a female legislator, FWIW.

LOL at the outage here. Men in MO Legislature also have a dress code and are also required to cover up their arms while attending sessions. This isn’t sexism, it’s just applying the same standards to everyone.

Legislators should wear whatever they want. If their constituents do not like what they wear, and if their constituents are dumb enough to consider the clothes of their representatives to be a voting issue, then they can vote for someone else in the next election.

I don't want the legislators wearing formal clothing. It's misleading. It makes them look like professional people who should be respected or taken seriously when most of them are not. It'd be like making a Taco Bell employee dress up in chef's attire. Doesn't make sense.

The dress code for men should be repealed then. School uniforms are r-tarded and so is reprimanding legislators for how they dress.
