FIGHT RACISM AND SEXISM ACT

1. No public school receiving federal funds shall require, or make part of any course taught at such school any of the following concepts:

A. That one (1) race or sex is inherently superior to or inferior to another race or sex;

B. That an individual, by virtue of his or her race or sex, is inherently racist, sexist, privileges, biased, oppressive, or responsible whether consciously or unconsciously;

C. That an individual should be discriminated against or receive adverse treatment solely or partly because of his or her race or sex;

D. That members of one (1) race or sex cannot and should not attempt to treat others without regards to race or sex;

E. That an individual's moral character is necessarily determined by his or her race or sex;

F. That an individual, by virtue of his or her race or sex, bears responsibility for actions committed in the past by other members of the same race or sex;
 
G. That any individual should feel discomfort, guilt, anguish, or any other form of psychological distress on account of his or her race or sex;
 
H. That meritocracy, market-based economics, or traits such as a hard work ethic are racist or sexist, or were created by a members of a particular race to oppress members of another race;

I. That Atlasia or any Region thereof, their respective constitution and bill of rights, their government, or their history is fundamentally racist or sexist;

J. That the planet Earth is flat rather than spherical.

2. No public school receiving federal funds shall incorporate buttplugs, anal beads, dildos, or any other sex toy, or instruction on the use thereof, into its sexual education curriculum.

3. This act shall take effect July 1, 2023.

Looks like this prohibits racist and sexist curriculmn in federally supported schools, as well as Flat Earth and use of sex toys in instruction.

This bill takes the worst of the "Anti-CRT" baloney and combines it into one tidy package. Like all such proposals, this one fundamentally misunderstands the teaching of humanities in public schools and presents a misguided, black-and-white view of how public schools create and regulate their curriculum. It is, of course, vague in how school districts should interpret this federal list of forbidden topics, and does not clarify whether it is advocacy or discussion of sensitive subjects (as outlined in Sec. 1-A through 1-I) that being targeted. I would urge all Senators vote against this.

Aside of that, i have few issues with the proposed bill, and I propose the following amendment, given I support some parts but not all.

1H and 1I are opinions that should be allowed to be expressed or discussed in schools, while H and I are not specific attacks on an individual (A to G are, and with regards to D i'm still asking for the exact meaning of D).

1J. and part 2 feel out of topic, not relevant or absurd and is in my opinion just added to improve the "common sense" feel of this act. I would suggest to remove this part and just discuss 1A to 1G properly.

Part of the racist curriculmn some schools promote now is that all interactions should be influenced and determined by race. If soneone says they treat people with color blindness or dont discriminate in interactions on the basis of race (which is a good thing) the teacher will chastize them and tell them that colorblindness is racist and that race should center all interactions. Its a key part of Kendian race theory which is that "the way to remedy past discrimination is present discrimination; the only way to remedy present discrimination is future discrimination." Here, D. is prohibiting curriculmn that openly discourages equality in racial treatment, even though equality in racial treatment is dictated by the constitution.
