Rhode Island is the obvious choice, isn't it?

Yup. Heavily Catholic state in which it's local congressional body is made up of actual devout faithful elected officials who uphold the reactionary positions of the church.

He doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Both congressman from Rhode Island are Jewish and Senator Whitehouse is Episcopalian. Jack Reed is catholic but hardly some kind of reactionary.
