Millions more Europeans immigrate to the United States than the reverse — which only makes sense, given how much higher the standard of living is in the United States relative to typical Western European countries.

The typical WE country has more vacation time, a greater safety net, longer lifespans, higher education rates, and consistently trade between each other for "happiest nation", and no gun deaths, and you don't hear much about homeless encampments.

There are certainly reasons for the lack of American expats, but living standards ain't it.

Genuinely amusing how much *some* Yanks see Western Europe as a dystopian hellhole.

yeah, but they don't hear about the encampments much.  Maybe European homeless are quieter and live alone?

It really depend on the country in question. But homelessness is fundamental different in different countries both between EU and USA, but also between the different EU countries. As example most “homeless” in Denmark are young people who couch-surf until the social service intervene and get them installed in a apartment or they return home, Danish street homeless tend to substance abusers who tend to stay in homeless shelters in the colder months. Foreign homeless are split between other Scandinavian who comes here for the more liberal treatment of drug users and milder weather, and professional beggars/burglars/pickpockets from Romania. The latter sometimes establish homeless encampment, but when the police becomes aware of them they raid the camps and deport them back to Romania. Of course with the growing living standards in Romania, even the Gypsies rarely care enough to deal with the zero tolerance by the Danish police anymore. The Danish and Scandinavian street homeless are rarely a problem, as if they have serious mental problems they end up hospitalized and if they’re criminals they’re jailed.

Only if they integrate. There should be a requirement for American immigrants to learn English for example.

Tbf Vosem also thought at one point the midterms would be like R+18 and that the US should abolish Medicare and public schools.
