Croatia doesn't leave any piece of coast to Bosnia.

Definitely, though Bosnia have a very small access to the coast in the city of Neum.

Similar cases are Slovenia and Jordan. Latter somewhat expanded their coast line at the Gulf of Aquaba at some point though, by exchanging other territory with Saudi Arabia.

No, they gave Bosnia a piece of coastline. Montenegro is unfair to Serbia.

Yes,

Neum is almost completely owned by Croatians. I have stayed there on holidays.

To rub salt into the wounds, when i drove from Dubrovnik to Neum (beautiful summer drive), as you are coming into Neum, it said "Welcome to Hrvatska".

Croatia is great and I have had extensive life experience with Croatian families. I find the people to be the tightest in the World when it comes to money. They are like Italians, except really hard.

When you first meet Croatians at a dinner party, people are introduced in order of wealth and the conversation will most likely be:

"How much property do you have?".
"What do your parents own?"
"What is your mortgage?",
"How much do you earn?"

It is like conducting a credit application for a home loan. If you qualify, then it changes to:

"Maybe we should introduce (and marry you off) to cousin Isla?"

Everything is centred around money. Your value as a person is 90% based on you balance sheet. And they wont give you a chocolate bar. Because of this insane lack of spending, the country has 40% unemployment and stole the coast line from their neighbours (with pride).

They tend to spit on Bosnians as 'country bumpkins'.

Lol it’s largely following (or attempting”) to follow ethnic lines. The coast is primarily Croat identifying. Even in Neum as Mezclazine said. Anyways they aren’t even culturally that different except for religion, it’s more that Croats Serbs and Bosnians just really want an excuse to hate eachother…which is cool because hating other people is a fun part of life.

If anything it's unfair to Croatia, who had to build a 420 million euro bridge to a peninsula to finally connect one part of the country to another, all because the small Bosnian town of Neum - which is ethnically completely Croatian! - lies in between.

There's nothing "unfair" about it?? The border is that way for longstanding historical reasons dating back to the early days of the Ottoman Empire, and if you were to adjust it on "ethnic" grounds (which to be clear you shouldn't, at least not unilaterally) it's Croatia that would have to expand further.

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-62311106

They had to build a bridge with Chinese money since Bosnia is not a EU member and there is border control, which means that waiting lines on roads with the enclave often were very long since it technically acted as an exclave.

We also have a small coastline, but Bosnia is the world's second shortest after microstate Monaco.

The Republic of Congo is also pretty weird in that regard. Massive country in terms of size, very short coastline.

Has something to do with all coastlines already being taken by other colonizing nations when Belgium colonized the congo.

Yeah a funny thing about the former Yugoslavia is that the features which seem like they would be indicators of ethnic conflict are actually unrelated to it--the Croatian border is of longstanding historical vintage, and the distinction between Bosnia and Herzegovina is one of region, not ethnicity (though Herzegovina obvs. has more Croats).

Neum actually is a pretty dynamic place. Would visit again.

Would love to hear more about it!

A decently fun beach town that feels largely like the rest of Croatia. I stopped in while traveling between the 2 parts of Croatia just for the novelty and had pizza and alcohol(!) on the beach. You can see from Croatia to Croatia, as well as the islands off the shore that are part of Croatia, all at once. The city is rather dense, and because we were coming by car, we had to find parking, which took more than an hour on the steep, zig-zagging one way streets.
