Kanye. Mentally ill. Donald Trump. Mentally ill. Elon. Mentally ill.

These feel like three different things, right? The first is kind of clearly exhibiting psychotic-spectrum behaviors; the second maybe has some age-related things going, but also maybe has always been like this; the third one seems to be moving from success to success, to the point where if that's mental illness we need to figure out how to spread it.

I don't necessarily think that 'people who incite violence don't deserve free speech' is something that society should accept uncritically, for the record -- all of these terms that are used as excuses to censor end up ballooning in meaning in practice -- but this is a difficult case to get up in arms about, since the opinion being censored is so unsympathetic and fringe, and the person being censored is both clearly mentally ill and clearly has other platforms to use. Probably the right move for Elon here from a PR perspective even if I'm inclined to look at it a bit askance.
