These are the finalists (sans DC) for an upcoming Atlas meetup next year. It's basically invite-only and pretty "senior-oriented," but I'm doing a poll for them anyway.

My rankings are as follows:

1. El Paso
2. Pittsburgh
3. Denver
4. Chicago
5. Nashville
6. Atlanta
7. Miami
8. Boston
9. Washington, DC
10. New York

I nominated El Paso and Pittsburgh. Philly came up also, but according to retromike there's fairly little to do there and it's just not a very nice city. Boston, New York, and DC are at the bottom for me because I've been to each a million times, whereas I've never been to the others.

Also, as my best friend said to me: "New Yorkers get lost in New York."

Denver.

It's my Texas duty to want to want to go to Colorado for a weekend in the summer.

Easily Boston.  Mrs. Grumps and I enjoy visiting there the most.

1. Washington, DC (Endless stuff to see)
2. New York (Endless stuff to do)
3. Miami (Sit back and enjoy the nice weather, but not the best beach city)
4. Chicago (I work in Chicago, so while there is plenty to do, I can spend all the time I want down here)
5. Nashville (Would have been higher in the past, but I am getting too old for the nutso bar scene)
6. Boston (I was surprised, but I didn't enjoy walking around the city that much. Would do another Red Sox game)
7. Denver (My guess is that Coors Field is a sneaky elite baseball stadium)
8. Pittsburgh (I'd do a Pirates game on Saturday and a Steelers game on Sunday)
9. Atlanta (Not sure what I'd do other than a Braves game)
10. El Paso (I don't know anything about it)

Chicago would be most convenient for me and is a convenient location in general so I voted that.

I love Atlanta because it'll always feel like home, but out of the places on this list that I've visited for the weekend I had the best time in El Paso. El Paso the city has two big things going for it: the food is great and it's really cheap. I didn't actually spend much time in the city, though, because I was out of the city visiting the parks in the hinterland every day. Every time I meet someone from El Paso and tell them that I went there on purpose there they're confused, but I had a fantastic trip.

I don't think I'd mind a weekend in any of them, even Miami (but nothing more than a weekend!).

I've actually been to most cities on the list interestingly. El Paso, Miami, Pittsburgh and New York are the only exceptions.

If alone, New York simply due to public transport and the fact I live in DC.

If with my mother or someone else who can drive, Miami (yes meme)

You’re not missing much if it’s just the city of Denver. Like we have stuff but we aren’t *that* exciting.

Washington DC, to be honest. I'd also like to visit the Greater DC area, especially Alexandria, Virginia.

Close runner-up is New York, which would have been my answer up until a few years ago.

For a weekend?  No.  But if you make your way to the Burgh, I know some great places to get some awesome whiskeys!

New York makes sense since i've never been there (or any other place in the USA).

A lot of these would seem interesting, i like to explore, even just walking i would enjoy. But NY is most iconic ofc.

El Paso, actually.   For the food alone along that Dyer drag outside Ft. Bliss.

Bomb-ass menudo (EXTRA spicy, EXTRA onions, EXTRA LIME) and those taquitos drenched in shredded cheese, lettuce, and Hunt's tomato sauce that the Mexicans charge like $2 for.

I feel like New York's far too big to do much of anything in only a few days, my own directional challenges notwithstanding.

If I were to vacation in NYC, I'd take a week or maybe two.

DC, but I'm weird and could spend a basically infinite amount of time in all the museums. Tbf, a lot of people here are weird in the exact same way.

I'd feel bad for whoever was with me because I don't think I'd be able to refrain from constant history lectures on anything and everything I see.
