For me it works the opposite. I root for or against teams based on where they're from.

All the teams in Los Angeles are falling apart except for SF 49ers but just like in 2020 they have a Chiefs problem and sooner or later Phoenix Suns are gonna beat the Warriors but they can lose to the Bucks, Rams have a Stafford concussion problem and Lakers as Phil Jackson said LeBron is past his prime

But, clearly rather root for Chiefs than East Coast Philly since I am not from East Coast and I only rooted for Phillies because Astros cheat but Nolan Ryan is a Genius he is the owner of the Astros

I knew If Rams didn't make it this yr then Chiefs were gonna win

I root for the Chiefs because I won for the second time my fantasy league and I had Kelce on my team, he is gonna win 3 titles including this yr but more than that it's yet to be seen

As an NY resident, I must say that my state has the most annoying sports fans. Most of the sports teams' fans aren't that bad, but some Yankees fans are such big a**holes, they solely cause NY to best Massachusetts or California in this regard.

I pay almost no attention to sports, but here's another vote for Massachusetts - as person from New England.

I guess my favorite state based on sports would be Texas because my dad liked the Cowboys, and I currently live in a house decorated with Cowboys merch. I just root for whoever the people around me are and that's usually Dallas.
