D-MN vs. L-CA.

No offense, I'd vote for BRTD who would probably win by a comfortable margin.

Dule/Dule

Dule is far less offensive to Christians than BRTD.

Can I make Dule be the actual President but force him to implement BRTD's policies?

I'm voting for BRTD and he would win, because Dule is far too normal to win the presidency. BRTD is just the right amount of weird.

I think I prefer Dule's personality but BRTD on policy more. I'm with Ferguson and wish I could combine them both in this way.

I like Dole; I'd vote for him. I think he'd have a shot if there isn't a republican.

I honestly don't see any scenario where Dule wins if he's running against a Democrat. He'd be the 'default' option for conservative voters but he is waaaaaay too liberal on the issues that Republicans actually care about. Republican turnout would be extremely low.

I do think BRTD would win this based on policy, as others have said, but it could be closer than you might think. I believe I'm highly capable of masking my actual beliefs (and obsessions), while BRTD's severe autism makes it impossible for him to not actively shout his wacko opinions from the rooftops. He does not come across as someone who's capable of self-restraint.

I have no illusions about the fact that I would ultimately lose (I could pay some lip service to the Christian right via my opinions on constitutional interpretation, but the triangulation would ultimately fail), but I think I could pick off a handful of moderately competitive states. This would be very similar to the "Christian socialist/capitalist atheist" matchup I asked about earlier this year, with me being competitive in the Sun Belt while BRTD dominates the Rust Belt.

I'm voting for the guy who will not play EMO music at their campaign rallies.  Smiley

Nah you would win easily lol (elections aren't won on policy anymore; they're won on personality). The only question is how far are you willing to go in bullying BRTD for being a weirdo. I won't comment on your diagnosis of him having "severe autism" but don't doubt that you are right that he couldn't restrain himself from showing off his... eccentricities, while I think you could present yourself as a normal and well-qualified candidate (you are attending a top law school after all). Your campaign would also make Trump's 2016 campaign look amateurish with your memes.

Oh and I would vote for you, despite our disagreements over policy (especially the courts) and to an extent religion. Having you in the White House would just be too golden an opportunity to pass up.

Though I wouldn't be mad if BRTD won either. I could sleep more soundly with either of you in the White House than Trump or even DeSantis or any other realistic GOP candidate, for what that's worth.

That all said, you WOULD probably lose if you went full r/atheism edgelord on the electorate, but you seem to be confirming that you're too smart for that. The map would probably not resemble the typical D vs. R map at all these days so not sure how much rust belt/sun belt comparisons matter. I can see you winning Virginia for instance even as BRTD easily wins Minnesota of course. It might be more of a 2004 than 2020 map.

A lot of the things that people think would doom me are kind of amusing.

"He listens to emo!" Uh look at how Beto O'Rourke became the closest Democratic candidate to winning Texas four years ago. "He goes to an unusual hipster church!" Since when is being an outspoken Christian a downside in US politics, and you seriously think voters are going to care that a candidate goes to a church that plays indie rockish music? (which isn't even that uncommon.) And for eccentric quirks...uh, take a look at Trump.

The problem is not your specific interests. It’s the way you talk about them.

Dule of course, but who wins is determined by how many times BTRD mentions his foot fetish during the debate.

If he even mentions it at all, Dule will win in a 535-3 landslide

BRTD would probably win, but it would be an interesting race. I'd vote for BRTD on policy grounds.

I would never vote for somebody like Dule who despises the poor and helpless and loves the rich and powerful.
