Evers is an extremely dull and forgettable guy in general, very few people even in Wisconsin have strong opinions of him. He got elected mostly based on the rage and hate for his predecessor, with him just being a stand-in for the other option. His approval ratings have always been mediocre and even his own base isn't big on him for not getting enough done, even if that's not really his fault. Sound familiar?

And yet...he still got re-elected and by a relatively wide margin (for Wisconsin standards if you consider it's basically almost a dead even 50/50 state that's incredibly polarized which is basically what it is now) mostly because his opponent was a lot harder to swallow and seen as worse. Despite few people being big on him, he still was seen as preferable to his opponent and that was enough.

If Biden faces Trump again, I think you have the same scenario. We've already seen that even people who are underwhelmed or unhappy with Biden still by and large don't consider Trump a viable alternative if they weren't already completely down with him to begin with. Even if not many people are very stoked on Biden, few people who aren't partisan Republicans or complete MAGAheads have some sort of extreme hatred for him either. He's generally just considered "meh" and underwhelming. So facing Trump is like if you were given the choice of eating a bowl of unsweetened oatmeal or a moldy cake that expired three months ago. Neither is appealing but it's also a complete no-brainer which one people will choose.

It's too soon to say. We don't know what the national environment is gonna be like in 2024, nor do we know if Trump will even win the nomination.

Biden isn’t dull or forgettable. And he’s gotten quite a lot done.

There's something comforting about old men quietly and competently doing their jobs as politicians right now.

The big difference is that Evers has little actual power besides his veto pen. Evers even struggels to get his appointments confirmed by the republican state senate.

Hard to do anything unpopular or get blame for things if you are this powerless. Republicans are very secure in their hold on the legislature, so they tend to be too conservative for the median statewide voter.
Evers can run on being competent and as a counterweight against republican overreach. Biden doesn't have that option.

Of course, he gets Elected because of the Senior vote just like Johnson did, but that's why Ds have a great chance to regain the Secular Trifecta again because Biden is back on the ballot, Ds performed better in 2020 than 22 like Cooper won in NC and Beasley lost in 22 and Brown will naturally do better than Ryan because OH is a battleground state in Prez Edays watch is Brown wins they are gonna say Brown is untouchable but he is running in a Prez race not a Midterm every time he ran was in a D fav not R fav environment like Tammy Baldwin

We're gonna do better in CA and NY H races that we lost in 22 like Garcia probably goes down because partisanship and Turnout are always higher in Prez years , and perhaps if Rs overreact on impeachment Kean and Fitzpatrick goes down that's the H majority right there

Luckily for Biden the House GOP could very well go crazy over the next two years.

It helps when your GOP opponent makes a gaffe that people interpreted as wanting to rig elections for Republicans going forward.  Whatever he meant it came out wrong.
