It looks as the GOP nominee in 2024 will either be Donald Trump or Ron DeSantis.

For a long time, I thought it'd be Marco Rubio. I also thought he'd win.

After seeing that Trump has run, I doubt it will be Rubio anymore. I don't think he will even run.

He was humiliated by Trump in the 2016 primary, denied a single delegate in his home state!

But no matter which of the three runs, they're all from Florida.

It's going to be DeathSantis or Trump. There's next to no chance that it's neither of them (and if it IS neither of them, it's hardly impossible that the GOP nominee happens to be some other Floridian).

Voted "Certain to Happen;" although it's not quite 100% (still too early to definitively say), it's much closer to "Certain" than "Uncertain."

Is Trump really a Florida native? Anyway, I think it's >50% chance it will be one of them.

The only scenario where the top of the Republican presidential ticket is not named "Donald Trump" or "Ron DeSantis" is if Trump wins the nomination but dies before the election, and his running make takes his place.

The issue is that DeSantis is the only person able to beat trump. All others have not gotten into the same zany shenanigans to appeal to the base, or are women.

Ron DeSantis could also get the nomination and die before the election by being assassinated or something, God forbid if the latter happens.

No, he's born and raised in New York.

No, he's born and raised in New York.

Specifically, Queens.

So maybe if I said Florida "resident", which asks you more like the question I tried to ask, there'd be less votes for "uncertain".

Without a doubt. Heck even Rubio and/or Scott might run. A Florida Man is virtually guaranteed the 2024 GOP nomination and very likely the 2028 nomination as well.

DeSantis is not that well-known. Sure, he has a lot of hype and looks good on paper, but he is also having everyone who doesn't want Trump again project their hopes onto him-maybe he won't live up to the hype. If not, it's possible that those voters look at a different non-Trump option and like what they see more, and this person is the nominee.

It is unlikely, but not impossible.

I dunno, Trump just announced his candidacy, and yet DeSantis is polling within the single digits of Trump. And it’s only 2022.
