Yup, full-fledged Episcopalian here. (Baptized UCC, realized that my views were closer to Catholicism as an adult, but converted to Anglicanism because I cannot in good conscience say I think what the Catholic Church says is true about things I think they're wrong about.) And, rightly or wrongly, I'm studying with the intention of joining the priesthood.

But yeah, you've definitely come to the right place! There's definitely more Christians on the left than I think you'd normally find on a political forum, but considering we're on the whole better educated, that probably balances things out some.

Oh yeah, there's two common memes here from Christian songs.

One is "I don't worship a concept, I follow a King"

from this:

The other is from this song, "My King is alive!"

NGL, I think my version of Christianity is actually the closest to BRTD's of anyone on the Forum (although our aesthetics and politics are very different, ofc)
Is your version of Christianity heavily influenced by emotional hardcore music of the mid-to-late 90s?

Literally LOL'd at this.

Never change, BRTD. Never change.
This song legitimately counts as a hymn and I won't hear it otherwise.

I forgot to say - fine choice. I don't listen to this kind of stuff super often, but this is the kind I like. Cheesy

Not only did I finally get to see them at Furnace Fest, before their set the main organizer spoke on stage that "Waking Giants" is one of his top 3 favorite releases on Solid State and there's a special press of it for the first time on vinyl only available to Furnace Fest attendees! And to talk to any of the guys in the robot shirt (the logo of the pressing business they worked for) to get a code to pre-order it after the set. Then one guy carrying the codes jumped off staged and crowd surfed off as it began.

I was the first person to get a code after the set and my order was in in minutes! He said it should come December/January.

Hiya.

Grew up in MN, grew up LCMS but also attended a Baptist church and an ELCA church. Don't do church anymore for a variety of reasons, but my faith is still a big part of who I am.

Love your neighbor is my foundational principle. It also surprises me how much stuff people think is in the bible that isn't.
