After leaving office as Governor of Kentucky, John Y. Brown mounts a quixotic bid for President and wins the nomination against Walter Mondale on the final day of the primaries.

He faces the incumbent, Ronald Reagan in November.

Brown doesn't do that well due to Reagan's charisma and popularity, as well as his health issues, plus corruption and drug trafficking scandals
