I actually think Mikie Sherrill could absolutely beat Menendez in a primary. The problem is, that simply won't happen.

The Reps and other ambitious New Jersey Dems are either keeping their powder dry for the 2025 Governor's race, or waiting for Menendez to retire in 2030 (or wait for Booker to be appointed to the Cabinet under Biden or a Democratic President, which is a fair possibility).
