I don't think Tuttle would be a very strong candidate. This is also, like, the 7th-most vulnerable D-held seat at least, so I don't see much money being spent on this race by the GOP against more attractive targets.

It's the David McCormick brain worms again. Let's just nominate a rich person, what could go wrong? #Romney2012

Daines' strategy of recruiting self-funders with no electoral experience to run against proven electoral and fundraising powerhouses is...gutsy...to say the least.

The GOP again tries to fool voters with their "outsider businessguy that cleans DC up and runs his office like a business" nonsense.

Just because a brain-dead Q boomer like Mastriano did poorly, it doesn't mean GOP leadership should push for billionaire poor-hating banker elites to run in the rust belt.
Just ask Romney how he did

If it's Slotkin vs random Wall Street exec from New York, Republicans should just write this one off.

Yeah. Slotkin's not as progressive as some people might like, but she's not Sinema, and she's proven that she can appeal to swing voters. I'm okay with her being our nominee.

Try telling that to the guys on Twitter who believe that anybody slightly to the right of Bernie Sanders is a Republican

Tuttle is not great, but the alternative here isn't some stellar candidate, it's someone like Tudor Dixon.

Yeah. Meijer would be a great GE candidate, but unfortunately he'd never make it through the primary.

Dixon (who ran more as a DeSantis Republican than a Trump Republican) may be weak but she'd do better than Tuttle.

The Republican bench in Michigan is very slim pickings after 2022. They can always run James again and give him his third statewide L.

As much as I wish it were Benson and not Slotkin, this race is definitely Dem advantage. Slotkin's a monster fundraiser and Tuttle does not have broad appeal. The GOP's best shot is Peters' seat in a Biden midterm, and only with a better candidate than Dixon.

By no means a Meijer fan but this seems to assume too much; he has a clear lane to a chunk of the vote and could come through a divided field. He’s not Cheney or Kinzinger.
