I've always loathed the England rugby (union) team, so this is good also Smiley

Strongbow is that sh*tty "cider" isn't it?

Yes, but Strongbow is also the name of the Norman Lord who with local assistance became King of Lenister in c12 Century, thus starting English dominance over Ireland.

Easy to get the two confused, isn't it?

Well, there's a game that will last long in the list of great Irish sporting moments, and indeed Irish history generally with God Save The Queen being played in Croke Park.

Indeed. Though I really get understand all the fuss, It wasn't like the English Rugby team were going to charge into Croke Park armed with Machine Guns and fire randomly into the air?

That reminds me of the text message doing the rounds in the last few days, about how the Irish team would have two changes from the last outing in Croke Park, O'Driscoll and Stringer, but that the English side would be radically different from their last visit, having to make do without armoured cars and machine guns. (Though based on the performance they may have needed such things to win today.)

Yeah, in fairness, there was never much chance of the English team or fans doing anything silly. (Though had something happened along the lines of a couple of years ago with them standing on the wrong side and refusing to move, who knows what could've happened.) There was though, a not inconceivable chance that there may have been an element of disrespectfullness when the English anthem was played. Thankfully, this didn't happen. (The traditional rugby going crowd being, on the whole, quite different from the traditional GAA crowd, helped in this regard.)

Another victory for Italy!
It's unbelievable...we score a try with 2 minutes to go and then, with just seconds to the end,Wales prefers to have a lineout instead than have an easy kick that would have given them a draw...

That's because the referee told Wales that there was time for another play, but blew the whistle as soon as Wales began to re-start the game.

White is either incompetent or corrupt. Either way he should never referee again.

Don't start with the corruption even in rugby, please. They could have drawn but instead went for the big target, and lost.Fair enough for me.

Except for the fact that they had been given misleading information by the referee; something that is completely unacceptable in a game in which trust between the two teams and the referee is essential.
I'd say the same if things had gone the other way.

I told everyone that Oneida was going to have a bad year, but no one listened to me.  I can't believe they lost to the Mohawks of all people.  At least we have some time before the trade deadline.

Wales deserves the spoon, and a damn good swatting with it.

Holy Christ, please God above let us beat England, that song really sticks this year.
