I would have little problem with Sinema's obnoxious bothesiderism/moderate heroism if it actually worked. The problem is though that if polls are to be believed, it doesn't.
She is deeply disliked by Democrats, Republicans, and independents alike. That's the main reason why I think she needs to be primaried. She is so unpopular that she'll probably lose to a semi-normal Republican.

He's back!

Sinema has really put Dems in a tough position now...wish we can get some new polling data on how a hypothetical 3 way matchup with Sinema as Indie would look like

Is she even going to run? I find that increasingly hard to believe. She also might take more votes from the Republican, especially if they nominate another wacko like Ms. Lake.

Imagine being delusional enough to think you can win as independent.

She basically just needed to act and vote like Mark Kelly, who's far from a socialist, and run unopposed for the Democratic nomination and be favored in a general election. Instead, all the grandstanding and attention-seeking for nothing.

Not for nothing, for her she made bank from wall street and private equity firms in exchange for her gutting bills and blocking progress She'l also definitely get a cushy job in the private sector as a lobbyist or something after she comes in third in the general and likely hands some far-right extremist this seat in a three-way race.

Or maybe she helps hand the seat to Gallego by taking votes from the far-right extremist.

She might very well, though I doubt it will be on purpose.

Ducey would be toast in a primary, given Arizona Republicans direction in recent years. They're going to nominate another far-right nutjob and end up losing.

If Sinema actually runs, I predict she's most likely to end up like Jacob Javits in 1980, after he ran on the Liberal Party line following his loss in the Republican primary. She might even get less than 11% he got back then.

Will Gallego run unopposed in the primary? I think there's a good chance.

Hopefully Arizona elects a real Democrat this time. I bet the Republican base will help them by nominating another far-right lunatic. Maybe it doesn't matter too much whether Sinema sticks around them or not.

Lake considers running in Arizona and Mastriano in Pennsylvania? Gee, these guys are working overtime to make sure the Democrats keep the senate even with the lousy 2024 map. Well done!

That woman does seem to have a loose screw or two. The word that comes to mind is narcissist, a condition that I have been told is incurable.

I am not sure how effective she will be as a lobbyist however, when she is no longer needed. So one wonders what her plan will be to maintain her lavish lifestyle. That seems to be job one. Her sartorial choices remind me of what I see from time to time what I see when Dan watches fashion shows. The outfits are not what one typically sees on the street or anywhere else for that matter, other than the runways on which the models strut.

I look forward to the day we won't hear from her and Manchin ever again after both were defeated in a landslide in the next election.

She’ll get like 4% if the vote max when all is said and done. If she even bothers.

Well, increasingly looks like she's delusional enough, doesn't it?

Money trouble already for the Chamber of Commerce's favorite Independent.

That's 100% on her. There was no need for her to be in the same lane as Bernie or Warren, but if she just voted and acted like Mark Kelly, she would have been fine.

Sinema's message of being a bona fide moderate, trying to survive in a congress dominated by extremists, is catnip for traditional media like the NYT.
These are the same people who still can't seem to believe that Musk is a right-winger.

The most an annoying part of that mindset is their blatent ignorance over the fact that both sides aren't the same. They pretend Democrats are just as extreme on the left as Republicans are on the right. Although the objective facts tell otherwise.

Lean Gallego >>> Likely Gallego

I would move it from Tilt to Lean at best. Actually starts out as a tossup. While Gallego has a good chance to beat a MAGA Republican, Democrats would make a mistake by taking this one for granted. It's really a must win.

I agree that it's a Tossup, I think Sinema is going to pull more from Ds in the end, and I think Biden will outrun Gallego. I think I want Biden at 51% here to feel good about this one.

Not sure she costs Democrats more votes. More like 50/50. Her approval rating among Republicans has been higher than Democrats in latest polls. If she's delusional enough to actually run.

Great news for Gallego, especially since some disaffected Republicans who would otherwise hold their nose might end up voring for Sinema (if she even runs). Now just Mastriano is missing for the Pennsylvania race and Republicans are poised to have another cycle with recruitment failures.

I thought Mastriano announced that he wouldn't run for senate.

Right, I missed that one or already forgot. So Lake will be a frontrunner for the title of the most obnoxious Republican senate candidate of the 2024 cycle.

It feels like 2024 is going to be the same recruitment failure for Republicans as was 2022. The map actually puts them in a decent position to regain the senate majority, even if Biden wins reelection. It would be beyond hilarious if they blow it due to terrible candidates.

Still no word on whether Sinema is actually launching a vanity run? Wikipedia just says she "filled paperwork", which is a standard procedure.

She has my complete and total endorsement. For the Republican nomination. No matter what Sinema does, this is good news for the Gallego campaign.

Lake gets the Trump endorsement right out of the gate. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Lamb drop out soon.

Just an endorsement? Not a complete and total endorsement? Sad!

So Republicans learned nothing from their 2022 recruitment failures.

Nothing will probably top this as the funniest political moment of 2024:

Was Lake's account hacked or is this pure irony?

Good riddance.

I hope she enjoyed the attention while it lasted. She didn't have to be like Liz Warren, she just needed to vote like her colleague Mark Kelly or even Jon Tester and would have secured renomination with no or token opposition and enter the general election campaign as a modest favorite.

Kari Lake is the worst republican recruit in a competitive race. She's nasty and voters already rejected her. Her 2024 re-brand is off to a failing start.

Yes, but McCormick is giving her a run for her money.
