Even I bought the hype that Bolduc was competitive here, but I was also expecting a 2014-type night for the GOP.
However, even with the (historic) national Democratic overperformance in mind, it’s still clear that NH is an inflexibly Democratic/liberal state, not a state that’s winnable for Republicans at the federal level.
In fact, I don’t think any state has ever been as overrated as a "swing state" as New Hampshire is today. 2008, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2020, 2022 — Republicans were supposed to overperform/be competitive in NH in most if not all of those elections and ended up underperforming in all of them. I wonder how much longer we are going to keep this up? Are we going to pretend that Shaheen is vulnerable against the "right" Republican in a "Biden midterm"?
