My favorite part of the 2028 election is when Ruben Gallego says "it's Ruben time" and Rubes all over the Republicans

In all seriousness, he's a Trump-Warnock-Ossoff voter so probably not a Dem.

Jared Polis
Roy Cooper
Jon Ossoff
Raphael Warnock
Josh Shapiro
Gretchen Whitmer
etc

apart from probably Josh Shapiro… all of those are bland and uninspiring candidates, especially Ossoff and Warnock.

In 2000, there was a U.S. House candidate who couldn't even win a Democratic primary in his home district.  Eight years later, he won that district as president-elect.  A meteoric rise.

So I guess one place to look would be at all the people who lost their primaries this year for House seats lol

A lot can happen in less than a decade!

I'd like to see Buttigieg run again, ... assuming he makes the same or a similar proposal for reforming how to appoint new Supreme Court Justices.

My guess is Biden will probably try to run again in 2028 and will be favored to win the 2028 democratic primary.

It will be a race between Biden and another Republican.

Whitmer, Shapiro and Warnock.

2022 wasn't devastating for their bench like 2010, they have their slate of midwestern governors (not you JB Underperformer) and their real 2nd Obama. That also buried the chances of Kamala "I make Hillary look like a great candidate" Harris and Pete "0% among blacks" Buttigieg.

Kamala Harris
Pete Buttigieg
Gavin Newsom
Gretchen Whitmer
Josh Shapiro
John Fetterman
Jared Polis
Raphael Warnock
Wes Moore
Roy Cooper

I agree Ruben Gallego could be a real possibility too if he's elected Senator in 2024.

Obviously not all created equal as far as being potential nominees but there are plenty of options.

Why do you believe Biden, an 86-year-old man who doesn't even have the advantage of being the incumbent president, would even think about running for president in 2028, let alone be the only realistic option?

Joe Biden has ran for president at least 3 or 4 times going back to 1988. Why wouldn’t he try again in 2028. He’s in pretty decent shape physically even though his mental health is declining but not that rapidly. If he runs it’s his nomination to lose.

Because he'd have lost a general election (and doesn't have the same chokehold on the Democrats as Trump does on the GOP to have a fighting chance) and he is really, really old.

At the moment, Whitmer would look good. She just got reelected Governor of a key swing state and would be the right age for a President. The party wants to elect a woman.

Biden still the most likely to win the 2028 democratic nomination if he wants it.

Harris is the obvious pick, but there are plenty of other good choices Democrats have.  Here are ten, ranked by quality:

1.  Andy Beshear
2.  Katie Hobbs
3.  Josh Shapiro
4.  Gretchen Whitmer
5.  Pete Buttigieg
6.  Jared Polis
7.  Gina Raimondo
8.  Josh Green
9.  Wes Moore
10. Maura Healey

No on all counts, but I'm pretty bullish on all their odds.
