In both 1963 and 1975, major protests broke out in Iran against the Shah and his (mis)rule of the country that ultimately failed due to a relative lack of support by the Iranian people, as well as suppression by the Iranian army and SAVAK. Assuming that either the 1963 or 1975 protests would have become as big as the 1978/79 protests that resulted in the downfall of the Shah's regime, what changes would have occurred regarding Middle Eastern geopolitics?
