I agree with all of NDN's stances on the issues Opebo listed.

1 I see states being the first to do this in slow steps. It will probably take the next 50 years or so for it to happen on a nationwide basis with Texas, Oklahoma and Utah being the last holdouts(they probably handle it on a county basis)

2 The only thing keeping drugs illegal is the baby boomer generation as a whole discovering being moralistic control freaks in the 80s, the usual health nut/christian prude types, the fact that the elderly vote(this is why I see the WOSD being scaled down on a state level first and the feds taking a loooooong time to be convinced) and no politician with enough balls to take a stand on that issue.

3 That would be nice but again I don't see it on a federal basis anytime soon. I suspect we'll have states putting them in and it spreading gradually. That combined with the public's current trend against pro-GOP ideas leaves room for optimism...

4 I can't say anything here that NDN didn't say.

1.  Legalization of Prostitution

A wonderful idea, but unlikely to happen within the next 50 years. This country has a long ways to go before it realizes Nevada and Rhode Island have the right idea on this issue.

2.  Legalization of Drugs

An even better idea, and not as impossible as a lot of people think. There are already steps being taken to legalize medical marijuana and lower the drinking age. I'd say we have a 50/50 chance of marijuana being legalized within the next 30 years, with de-criminalization of other drugs later.

3.  Recognition of a Constitutional Right to Privacy - in other words appointment of judges who back this.

Definitely, but what do we do about the judges that are already on the Supreme Court? I don't see Alito croaking anytime soon.

4.  Economic Redistribution

Disagree for the most part, the government on the whole is too large and taxes too much. However, I would support radical renovation and re-development of our cities, transportation systems, etc. to be far more sustainable and interconnected than now. If that means using eminent domain, so be it.

5.  Withdrawal from imperial aggressions

Ain't gonna happen.

Of course none of those things will ever happen, straha, but those are 'my issues'.

Believe me, I'm not Straha. And actually, I think a lot of them will eventually.

Uh, you do know what I'm talking about, right? The M16 rifle and the M4 carbine.
