Between this, Oregon, Oklahoma, Georgia, we’re seeing a serious decoupling between state and federal races.
I see this as a good thing. My hope would be that it gives rise to more ideologically heterodox candidates in both parties.
If you like seeing weird gubernatorial election maps, look no further than 2002 - this is a map that would honestly make more sense if they were using Atlas colours (but they aren't - they're using the typical colour scheme of red = Republicans, blue = Democrats):

WY and OK go NON-ATLAS blue.
Over half of the governorships up changed parties.
