... despite the "study" being unscientific junk, not only is it not peer reviewed it doesn't even list the authors' names, it has a laughably small sample size and it's been thoroughly debunked throughout the Internet.

So basically this guy is just a hack politician masquerading as a public health official (he also regularly appears on Fox News shows) yet he has that much power in Florida because of DeSantis appointing him because that's how Florida is. And can you see why this state is so despised?

This particular surgeon general in Florida is a very biased political ideologue.  He's a doctor but one guided by political ideology, not by medical facts or mainstream science.

The title of "Surgeon General" gives him prestige and elevates him to national conservative spokesman for "conservative" health policy.

He'll probably be Secretary of Health and Human Services if "Don't Say Gay DeSantis" becomes President so he can have that platform from which to attack the things he objects to, like trans kids and vaccines.
