From the article:

"The Food Security for All Veterans Act was passed by a 376-49 vote, sending the bill to the Senate for approval.

The legislation, introduced by Democratic Rep. Mary Peltola, aims to establish a department to assist veterans facing food insecurity and lack of nutrition."

Anyway, some recognizable names from the cast of clowns:

Matt Gaetz (P-FL)
Louie Gohmert (R-TX)
Paul Gosar (R-AZ)
Marjorie Taylor-Greene (R-GA)
Jim Jordan (R-OH)

The party of veterans strikes again:

Also, can we agree Peltola is based?

It's just based that a Democrat is representing AK in the House after 5 decades. Reading this article, it would be very satisfying if, after "Democratic Rep. Mary Peltola", they added "of Alaska."

Why does Marjorie Taylor Greene want people who gave their limbs for this country, to be homeless on the streets, and be in a state of food insecurity?

What I'm saying is, it's not JUST those five who are the bad-egg rabble-rousers. Really, it's all the 5 Ferguson mentioned, PLUS Cawthorn, Brooks, Massie, Boebart, and probably a few I'm missing, who are the far-rightists and crazies who will reject even common sense legislation like this, in some combo or the other (though not infrequently they're joined by other Republicans as well, as they were here).

For instance, James Comer of KY01 is not a vocal or visible far-rightist, or somebody typically considered to be one (unlike the 5 Ferguson referred to and the 4 I added on, he's not got high name recognition or fame/infamy). Yet he voted nay on this. Ditto for Pat Fallon of Texas, Mark Green of Tennessee, Kevin Hern of Oklahoma, Bill Posey of Florida, Tom Tiffay of Wisconsin, Barry Moore of Alabama, Daniel Webster of Florida (and he's supposed to be "mainstream" and was challenged, nearly successfully, FROM THE RIGHT in his primary!) - you get the point.

(Also, I just remember another GOP crazy who's quite infamous and vocally/visibly a far-rightist: Mary Miller. Forgot about her, but she's among that ilk, too.)

But we can't give to others because we have homeless vets
*Proceeds to make sure vets stay homeless and have no food*. It makes sense now...
I'm for trying to get as close to 0 poverty as possible before providing non-emergency foreign aid, but there seems to be a method to their madness. Doing nothing about poverty when given the opportunity to is a disgrace, I don't care how expensive it is. They risked for life for this country, they should have is access to 3 meals a day. I'm glad it overwhelmingly passed though.
