18% of Democrats going for Mastriano is.... a result for sure

The most plausible explanation for this is that this poll must have oversampled voters who are registered as Democrats but who have voted Republican in recent elections (and many such voters exist in the counties that are part of the Appalachian Regional Commission - many of these counties had Democratic majorities or pluralities in terms of voter registration until a few years ago).

They are high schoolers who are probably doing the poll for a statistics class and not election nerds, I doubt they know the difference.
