Not if you see healthcare as a right and welfare as an entitlement.

Most liberal (which does not necessarily mean I am liberal on it):
Foreign policy (in the Bush-era sense)
The Gays (shocking, I know)
Healthcare, I guess

Most conservative:
Death penalty
Guns
Policy toward the "unwilling to work"

I am most conservative on the minimum wage. That's where my opinion is outside of the Overton Window.
I am conservative about the death penalty.
And I want to adopt constitutional amendments that will restrain the power of the federal government, and require the federal government to be much more fiscally disciplined.
https://talkelections.org/FORUM/index.php?topic=264160.msg5647960#msg5647960

I support LGBT equality (as a matter of what the legislative and executive branches should do, not the judicial branch).
I support abortion rights (again, as a matter of what the legislative and executive branches should do, not the judicial branch).
I believe the Warren Court did a lot of great things to protect certain civil liberties: Mapp v. Ohio, Miranda v. Arizona; precedents like these should not be overturned (but that Court also did several things wrong, too).

Most Conservative:
-Abortion, including banning hormonal contraception
-Sexuality and Gender Identity
-Sexual behavior laws (i.e. banning prostitution, pornography)

Most Liberal:
-A general sense of high social trust leading to opposing conspiracies and being OK with institutions, broadly speaking
-Immigration
-Racial tension (while I certainly have numerous disagreements with BLM, I think a lot of the opposition to all racial activism has been in bad faith and refuses to acknowledge any problem)

Historically, yes, but in 2022, it often leads me to feel a little out of place when I go to some political events.  Like, I would guess that I'd disagree with a decent amount of stuff said if I went to a TPUSA conference today.

Most liberal:

1) Racial issues. I disagree with BLM tactics, but find them largely correct. Blacks need protection from  a racist and cruel society.

2) Health care. I prefer a single payer system, but am fine with a public option to cover the gaps.

3) Caring for the environment. The only economic damage I would accept is from reasonable environmental regulations. However, I have some room for compromise on this issue.

Most Conservative:

1) Big fan of the free market and free trade.

2) Anti public sector unions. Cause more harm than good and create obnoxious sense of entitlement.

3) Anti-nanny state. see my covid throughts. Enough said.

Most liberal:
-General social/legal equality (women’s, LGBT, minority rights)
-Health Care
-Environment

Most conservative:
-Eminent Domain
-Policy Towards China
-Affirmative Action (I support necessary action to protect minority rights and opportunities, but oppose directly using race/ethnicity as factor in college admissions)

I’m ambivalent on social security, gun control, and some economic issues.

LIBERAL: Environment, guns, are the top two. The third could be the Big Lie and being pro-democracy, might be my stance on COVID, I honestly don’t know for sure.

CONSERVATIVE: Wokeism (big blanket term to refer to woke transgenderism and racial wokeness and cancel culture, as well as reparations and affirmative action), evictions of tenants, student loan forgiveness, in no particular order

Liberal:
1. Environment
2. Housing
3. Education

Conservative:
1. Energy
2. Covid (lockdown, curfew, freedom of movement)
3. Media ethics (general state of journalism)

Although arguably they're all liberal views but imo views currently associated with the right wing. And some are actually left wing but the general overview i categorize as right wing or at least not mainstream left wing.

Not "most important" but most left wing and most right wing.

I mean, perhaps not, given he has something of a neocon-libertarian streak (as his signature very accurately says), which would square with an opposition to gun control. But still. In any case, unlike many opponents of gun control, he’s a very intelligent, reasonable and articulate poster, so I suppose his explanation of his views would be interesting to listen to.

FWIW, I'm not opposed to all forms of gun control, for example I do support universal background checks. But I suppose it basically comes down to be believe that, as long as they are safe and responsible owners, people should be allowed to own whatever weapons they want. I also think that, considering how unfortunately both police brutality and domestic terrorism are, it wouldn't be inaccurate to consider extremely strict gun control measures against civilians to essentially be unilateral disarmament.

Most liberal:

*Social justice/racism.

*Healthcare (Single payer, universal healthcare is needed in America. A federal public opinion would be a good start).

*Environment/Climate change

Most conservative:

*Crime/death penalty (In favor of stricter laws on violent crimes and not opposed to the death penalty for the most heinous crimes - if proven beyond a doubt)

*Some parts of "woke" culture (I think things like "Latinx" are stupid and sharing pronouns is unnecessary)

*China policy (the Chinese government is evil and one of the biggest threats to the world)
