I do not think there is data for mail ballots statewide, but Ada County (home of Boise) at least has some visualizations: https://adacounty.id.gov/elections/absentee-ballot-tracking/

As of 10/4:
  • 32,315 ballots have been issued
  • 1,066 ballots have been returned, for a return rate of 3.3%

Republicans make up 49.7% of the requested ballots, Democrats 27.45%, and Unaffiliated 22.3%.

2018 had a total of 29,019 issued ballots by Election Day, so 2022 ballot requests have already blown past that.

Do you have the party breakdown from 2018?
Unfortunately not, and I don't think the website has that data either.

https://idahocapitalsun.com/2022/10/17/idaho-counties-report-increase-in-requests-for-absentee-ballots-for-general-election/

Have some data on Canyon County (Nampa/Caldwell), finally. 13,971 ballots have been sent out as of today. 13,924 were sent out in 2018, so this is a marginal increase.

In Bonneville County (Idaho Falls), over 3000 ballots have been mailed out. County Clerk anticipates about 50% turnout.

TargetSmart has a handy visualization of ballot returns.

https://targetearly.targetsmart.com/g2022

Compared to this same point out in 2020, Democrats are actually doing 3.6% better in terms of returned ballots

Using TargetSmart data, I created a map showing the current vote by congressional district as of yesterday.

What is the deal with TargetSmart? They say they pull their data directly from the state websites, so I don't get why people trash them here.
